Cobbled Lanes
The “Ishitatami no Komichi” (Cobbled Lanes) is a commercial area that offers everything from shopping through to dining, preserving the historical scenery of Hachiman waterways while letting you experience what it must have been like to walk those streets in olden times.

Hachimanyama Ropeway
This ropeway takes around four minutes to transport you from the base of the mountain to the top, from where you can enjoy a sweeping panorama that includes Lake Biwa, Lake Nishinoko and the old town below, all wreathed in the glory of the current season.

Takeshima (“multiple scenery island”) received this name due to the vastly differing views it offers depending on the location of the observer.

Biwako Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Shiga
Biwako Hall features a large hall with a four-sided stage, one of the few in Japan, realizing varied performances and frequent stage changes.
Chikubushima Island
This small island, with a circumference of just 2km, is located in the offing of Lake Biwa, approximately 6km from shore.
Aino土山斋王群行
日本平安时代,斋王带着随从自京都出发前往伊势,开启了从平安京前往斋宫的长途旅行,斋王旅行乘坐的是名为“腰轿”的轿撵。本次旅行是由多达数百名随从组成的大型团体旅行,称为斋王群行。“Aino土山斋王群行”活动,再现了本次旅行的场面。
Azuchi-jo Castle Museum “The House of Nobunaga”
Azuchi-jo Castle, constructed in 1579 under orders from Nobunaga Oda and said to be the first high-rise wooden construction in the world, was apparently also a big hit with missionaries visiting Japan.
Hikone Castle Cherry Blossom Festival
As spring blooms once again it is joined by the 1,200 cherry trees in the vicinity of Hikone Castle, marking the most beautiful time of year to visit the castle and its grounds.
